About
Safetylitigation.com provides lawyers and compliance professionals with an analysis of litigation and regulatory developments that impact workplace safety issues. Launched on April 29, 2014, the site analyzes developments in cases, laws and regulations, and agency action germane to safety compliance. It also highlights developments in enforcement actions or litigation that provide lessons learned for companies to minimize or prevent future problems.
The goal of achieving safe and incident-free operations is not industry-specific, and safetylitigation.com provides useful information to promote safe operations and avoid or minimize exposure to aggressive plaintiffs’ attorneys following incidents that do occur. The site highlights developments affecting companies in the oil and gas, mining, industrial and manufacturing, aviation, and transportation sectors, among others. Each post is tagged to enable quick retrieval of the information most relevant to a particular industry, agency or issue.
We have experience advising companies on best practices for risk management and process safety systems, compliance with safety regulations, and preparing for changes in regulations. We have represented clients investigating or litigating operational failures and workplace incidents, including disputes with government agencies involving criminal charges and civil fines, insurance coverage disputes, and product liability claims.
Most recently, our team represented the international drilling contractor in the multidistrict litigation arising from the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
We welcome any comments, questions, or suggestions for additional areas or issues to track. We also invite you to follow us on Twitter @SafeTLitigation.
